Christine Borries advises on German and international insolvency law, corporate restructurings (including insolvency plan proceedings and proceedings under the German Corporate Stabilization and Restructuring Act), and related commercial, litigation, and financing matters. She focuses on supporting corporations as well as other stakeholders in crisis and other special situations, particularly in the context of cross-border restructurings. She also has in-depth experience advising on distressed M&A and insolvency-related clawback and liability claims.
Prior to joining Jones Day in 2025, Christine advised HR Group on the acquisition of Success Hotel Group via insolvency plan; advised the Federal Republic of Germany and Finance Agency GmbH on insolvency plan proceedings of GALERIA Karstadt Kaufhof GmbH; advised and represented the insolvency administrator of Müller-Brot GmbH in relation to avoidance claims against a number of opposing parties; and advised the insolvency administrator of a real estate fund on the enforcement of directors and officers (D&O) liability claims against former board members, managing directors, and supervisory board members regarding the delay in filing for insolvency.
