Vanessa Sounthakith advises clients on all aspects of French and international taxation.

Vanessa counsels national and international companies in connection with transactional operations (mergers & acquisitions, private equity, and real estate), financial transactions, and major industrial projects particularly as they relate to the structuring of these transactions, tax audits, and equity incentive schemes for managers and employees from the French tax administration. She also has in-depth experience in the area of social security contributions and levies and represents clients in connection with tax audits and tax litigation before the French tax authorities and tax jurisdictions.

Prior to joining Jones Day in 2022, Vanessa worked for a French boutique tax law firm that is dedicated to private clients. She also practiced on the tax teams at international law firms.

In addition, Vanessa teaches French group company corporate taxation at the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.
