Leading construction litigator Lawrence Dany joins Jones Day in New York
The global law firm Jones Day announced today that Lawrence A. Dany III has joined the Firm as a partner in its Business & Tort Litigation Practice. Mr. Dany will be based in Jones Day’s New York Office.
With more than two decades' experience representing some of the world’s largest oil companies, owner-developers, general, specialty and EPC contractors, construction managers, and design professionals, Mr. Dany is frequently engaged by clients for representation in disputes relating to public and private projects—particularly in the power, energy, infrastructure and commercial sectors—and is recognized for achieving successful outcomes in both litigated and arbitrated matters across numerous jurisdictions.
“Larry has worked with some of the construction industry’s leading companies on critical projects and has assisted them in avoiding and resolving disputes and, where necessary, successfully litigating matters to resolution,” said Dan McMillan, co-leader of Jones Day’s global construction practice. “He brings great experience and insight to our construction industry clients in the U.S. and internationally, and he augments our capabilities in New York. Mr. Dany joins a multidisciplinary global construction team that regularly advises U.S. and multinational corporations, as well as public entities, on a wide range of contracting and disputed matters, some of which have involved the largest and most prominent infrastructure projects on record. He will collaborate with Jones Day construction team members in New York and throughout the Firm representing clients from the inception of projects and preparation of contract documents through dispute resolution; potentially including negotiation, mediation, arbitration, and trial.

A graduate of the of the University of Florida’s Fredric G. Levin College of Law, Mr. Dany also holds an MBA and an undergraduate degree from the University of Florida. He is recognized by Chambers USA in construction law and by The Legal 500 United States in the area of real estate and construction.
