IRS trial attorney Justin Campolieta joins Jones Day as partner in Tax Practice
Justin Campolieta has joined the Firm as a partner in the Tax Practice. He will be based in New York.
Mr. Campolieta served in the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Office of the Chief Counsel for nearly 20 years, most recently as a senior level special trial attorney in the Westbury, New York office, where he oversaw the development, litigation, and resolution of large tax controversies involving some of the most sensitive and complex issues within the IRS. Mr. Campolieta has broad experience with administrative and judicial tax controversies involving a wide variety of procedural and substantive tax issues, including transfer pricing; tax evasion, and fraud; financial products; tax treaties; cross-border information sharing; employment tax; collection due process; partnership taxation; administrative law; and individual income tax issues. Mr. Campolieta received the IRS Office of Chief Counsel National Litigation Award in 2015 and 2022.
At Jones Day, Mr. Campolieta joins a global team of more than 70 lawyers in the Firm's Tax Practice bringing comprehensive and integrated advice to clients across the United States, Europe, Asia, and Asia-Pacific. In addition to providing clients with wide-ranging transaction support and tax planning services, the Tax Practice handles all types of client tax controversy matters, with appearances ranging from audit to appeals to the courtroom. Their nationally recognized tax litigators have decades of experience in tax, district, and state and local courts.

Mr. Campolieta earned his law degree from the University of Miami School of Law and his undergraduate degree from the University at Albany, State University of New York.
