Jones Day represented an industrial energy company before the Department of Justice ("DOJ") and the Securities Exchange Commission ("SEC") with respect to the voluntary disclosure of allegedly improper payments made to government officials in China. After conducting an internal investigation with the support of forensic accountants, Jones Day advised the client on the creation and implementation of supplemental anticorruption compliance program components and addressed individual issues arising from operations in other countries under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act ("FCPA").
