Fortune 500 manufacturer and retailer successfully wins discrimination and whistleblower arbitration
Client(s) Fortune 500 manufacturer and retailer
Jones Day represented a Fortune 500 manufacturer and retailer against claims for religion, disability, and national origin discrimination and retaliation, and the Illinois Whistleblower Act. Plaintiff alleged that his supervisor mimicked his accent on multiple occasions, and that her animus towards Muslims and persons of Pakistani origin, as well as his multiple complaints filed via different company channels, caused him to receive poor work evaluations and was terminated. Pursuant to an arbitration agreement between the parties, after the parties tried a week-long arbitration and post-hearing briefing, the arbitrator ruled in favor of Jones Day's client and denied Claimant's claims in their entirety.
