On behalf of CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric, LLC, Jones Day obtained a voluntary dismissal of a patent infringement lawsuit after identifying strong non-infringement arguments before discovery started in the case. The lawsuit accused CenterPoint Energy of infringing a patent generally relating to smart meter technology for utility companies.
