Jones Day secures asylum for LGBTQ Jamaican
Client(s) DG
Jones Day secured asylum for DG, a Jamaican native, based on her membership of the LGBTQ community. After experiencing years of physical and verbal threats and violence because of her sexual orientation, DG fled Jamaica in 2014 and sought asylum in the U.S. Through the referral of Immigration Equality, Jones Day took on DG’s case and represented her throughout the asylum process, including drafting and filing her asylum papers and preparing her for and representing her at her asylum interview.
