Cree defends against patent infringement claims involving its LED packaging technology, contests validity of patents-in-suit

Client(s) Cree, Inc.

Jones Day represents Cree, Inc. in a patent infringement suit brought by Document Security Systems, Inc. in the Central District of California concerning four patents, which generally involve LED packaging technology. Cree has denied infringement and asserts the patents are invalid and has filed multiple inter partes reviews (IPRs) to contest the patent validity. The case is currently pending and in the claim construction phase.
