Marathon Petroleum and Speedway successfully settle lawsuit alleging violations of Kentucky's price gouging statute

Jones Day settled on favorable terms, and obtained dismissal of clients Marathon Petroleum Company and its affiliate, Speedway LLC, a lawsuit brought by the Kentucky Attorney General. The lawsuit alleged that the companies' wholesale and retail petroleum pricing in the wake of certain weather events in 2005 and 2011 violated the state's price gouging statute.
