Marine Corps veteran wins honorable discharge
Client(s) Marine Corps Veteran, P.C.
Jones Day obtained a discharge upgrade for pro bono client, P.C., a 27-year-old Marine who received a General Discharge Under Honorable Conditions from the U.S. Marine Corps based on a non-disabling mental health condition just four months short of the expiration of his term of active duty service. During his service, P.C. met all standards for accepted conduct and performance of duty and made dutiful efforts to ensure that his mental health issues did not limit his ability to continue his active service. After considering the record, facts, and circumstances surrounding the case, the Naval Discharge Review Board reversed the prior discharge characterization and ordered that P.C. shall receive an Honorable Discharge, making P.C. eligible for additional benefits based on his time in service.
