Rasha Gerges Shields named to Los Angeles Business Journal's list of "Leaders of Influence: Litigators & Trial Attorneys"
Rasha Gerges Shields, a partner in the Firm's State Attorney General Enforcement, Investigations & Litigation Practice resident in the Los Angeles Office, has been named to the Los Angeles Business Journal's list of "Leaders of Influence: Litigators & Trial Attorneys." The editors select attorneys based on a demonstration of their ability "to go to the proverbial mat to fight for their clients.”
Ms. Shields was selected for her first-chair trial and appellate counsel experience and for her work over the past year leading significant litigation matters and sensitive independent and government investigations for major clients, including securing summary judgment for a client in a multibillion-dollar purported class action. In February 2023, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass appointed her to serve on the Los Angeles Police Commission, a five-member board tasked with overseeing the LAPD; and in March 2023, she was selected and appointed by the Chief Justice of the California Supreme Court as one of six attorneys in California to serve on the Supreme Court and Courts of Appeal Bias Prevention Committee, which is chaired by Supreme Court Associate Justice Martin Jenkins.
Ms. Shields is a former federal prosecutor with nearly 20 years of trial and appellate experience in high-stakes civil and criminal matters, including DOJ and state attorneys general enforcement actions. She also maintains an active pro bono practice and commitment to public service. Ms. Shields immigrated from Egypt and is a first-generation professional.
