Sara Vanderstraeten joins Jones Day's Brussels Office as of counsel in Labor & Employment Practice

The global law firm Jones Day announced today that Sara Vanderstraeten has joined the Firm as of counsel in its Labor & Employment Practice. Ms. Vanderstraeten is based in Jones Day's Brussels Office.

Ms. Vanderstraeten has 17 years of experience advising companies across multiple industrial sectors, based on her in-depth knowledge of employment, pension, and social security tax law. She advises clients on company restructurings and M&A transactions, including due diligence, works council consultation and negotiation procedures, post-deal integration projects, employee transfers, dismissals, and plant closures. 

"Sara has a proven track record of helping clients navigate complex employment law matters in Europe and worldwide," said Liz McRee, who co-leads Jones Day's Labor & Employment Practice. "She has experience advising clients on compensation and benefits, flexible reward, pension plans, international mobility, collective bargaining, whistleblowing, and other day-to-day topics related to the employment lifecycle. Ms. Vanderstraeten earned her law degree from the University of Leuven (KU Leuven) in Belgium. She is fluent in Dutch, French, and English.
