On behalf of six luxury brand plaintiffs, Chloé SAS, Alfred Dunhill Limited, Officine Panerai AG, Montblanc-Simplo GmbH, Cartier International, and Lange Uhren GmbH, Jones Day obtained multiple favorable pre-trial rulings for plaintiffs in an action alleging contributory trademark infringement and counterfeiting by the second largest B2B website. Rulings included a temporary restraining order and seizure order; jurisdiction over the foreign website operator and owner; jurisdiction over the CEO and President of 400+ employee companies; dismissal of computer crime counterclaims (Stored Communications Act and Computer Fraud and Abuse Act) related to the seizure; a contempt order; summary judgment dismissing "wrongful" seizure claim; and denial of a motion to disqualify Jones Day.
