American Greetings acquires Clinton Cards business

Jones Day advised Lakeshore Lending Limited, a subsidiary of American Greetings Corporation, Inc. on the acquisition of a substantial part of the Clinton Cards business and assets from its administrators, Peter Saville, Simon Freakley and Anne O'Keefe of Zolfo Cooper. Jones Day also advised Lakeshore last month on the purchase of the secured debt owed by Clinton Cards to its lenders.

The acquisition includes approximately 400 Clinton Cards stores in the UK and has ensured that a significant part of the Clinton Cards business will continue to operate.
