PG&E defeats defamation and wrongful termination charges

Client(s) Pacific Gas & Electric Company

Jones Day served as lead counsel for Pacific Gas & Electric Company in defending claims of defamation and wrongful termination brought on by a former employee in California. We succeeded at winning summary adjudication on the defamation claim in October 2012 leaving only the wrongful termination claim to move forward to trial. Through extensive preparation, and leveraging our advantage in preparation, we secured a settlement on mutually agreeable terms on the eve of trial.
