Jones Day assisted Palos Community Hospital in creating an innovative clinical affiliation with Loyola University Medical Center based in Illinois. The affiliation focuses on coordinated and collaborative patient care and presents a new way to build a network of care that does not involve mergers, acquisitions, or consolidations. Each organization will maintain its own culture and commitment to the community, and their financial and organizational structures will remain separate. Patients will have greater access to Loyola's specialty care services, such as neurosciences and oncology, while ensuring continued access to Palos' primary care network. The affiliation took effect immediately.
