American Apparel concludes SEC investigation with no enforcement action

Client(s) American Apparel, Inc.

Jones Day represented American Apparel, Inc. in an investigation by the enforcement division of the SEC (LA Regional Office) arising out of the conduct of the former CEO regarding related party transactions and other alleged financial improprieties discovered during an internal investigation previously conducted by Jones Day. In early 2017, the SEC investigation concluded without a Wells notice and a recommendation that no enforcement action be taken against American Apparel.
