Human trafficking survivor obtains order sealing prostitution charge
Client(s) Human trafficking survivor
As part of the firm wide Human Trafficking Expungement Initiative, Jones Day represented a human trafficking survivor who escaped her trafficker and subsequently graduated from an Ivy League university. Jones Day prevailed in obtaining an order sealing the survivor’s criminal records related to a prostitution arrest in Harris County.
A team of Houston attorneys, led by Jonathan Marsh and a senior attorney from a firm client and pro bono partner, filed a nondisclosure petition and prepared the survivor to sit for a forensic exam. Shortly after the exam, the district attorney agreed to the order of nondisclosure and the court signed the order. Sealing this record will assist this trafficking survivor’s pursuit of a career in the financial services industry.
