Jones Day advised Hard Rock International in connection with its acquisition of a majority stake in a joint venture partnership with GEK TERNA Group, a Greek conglomerate listed on the Athens Stock Exchange. This joint venture was awarded the concession to develop, construct and operate an integrated resort and casino in Athens, Greece within the “Ellinikon” development, and will be branded Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Athens. This project is being developed as a unique destination in Europe combining a five-star luxury hotel with approximately 1,000 guest rooms and suites, a world class 15,000 sq meter gaming floor, a premier meeting and convention space, a state-of-the-art entertainment venue branded as Hard Rock Live, internationally renowned food and beverage, luxurious Rock Spa and Pool Complex, and a high-end retail promenade.
