Kristin Berger Parker has significant experience representing employers in federal and state courts. She defends single and multiplaintiff actions alleging discrimination, harassment, and retaliation under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA); wage and hour class and collective actions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA); and represents employers in enforcement and defense of noncompetition and nonsolicitation agreements. Kristin also represents employers in investigations conducted by administrative agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the Department of Labor (DOL) and in connection with charges of discrimination filed with state and federal agencies.
Prior to joining Jones Day in 2022, Kristin was first chair in numerous litigation matters, including defending a hybrid class/collective action alleging unpaid wages and overtime under the FLSA and state wage payment law; a collective action alleging national origin discrimination, and retaliation claims under Title VII, along with wage and hour, conversion, fraud, and breach of fiduciary duty claims; and representing a multinational adhesive manufacturer in enforcement of its restrictive covenant agreement, obtaining a temporary restraining order enforcing customer-specific noncompetition agreement.
Kristin regularly advises employers on labor and employment topics, including internal investigations, wage and hour compliance, leave and reasonable accommodation matters, restrictive covenants, and employment issues in mergers and acquisitions.
Kristin maintains an active pro bono practice focused on Social Security disability and immigration matters.
