Jones Day's Stephanie Parker recognized as a "Class Action/Mass Tort Trailblazer" by The National Law Journal
The National Law Journal has recognized Stephanie Parker, co-leader of the Firm's Business & Tort Litigation Practice, on its 2023 "Class Action/Mass Tort Trailblazer" list. The editors select attorneys who have made "significant marks on the practice, policy and technological advancements in their sector."
Based in the Atlanta Office, Ms. Parker leads the Firm's product liability litigation practice. Her recent successes include spearheading a federal MDL overseeing product liability cases against a major life sciences product manufacturer. She made innovative use of procedures unique to MDL practice, including—over plaintiffs' opposition—a "Science Day," where she led the presentation on scientific aspects of the litigation to the presiding MDL judge and state-court judges. Ms. Parker has extensive experience trying and leading "bet the company" litigation. In June 2019, she led the team that won a complete defense verdict in Robinson v. R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, which was the retrial of a $23.6 billion plaintiff's verdict (originally tried by another firm). She also led the team that achieved the record-breaking patent infringement verdict for Idenix Pharmaceuticals (subsidiary of Merck & Co.), the largest infringement verdict in U.S. history. She also serves as lead trial lawyer for General Electric.
In addition to this recognition, the Legal 500 United States recently ranked Ms. Parker as a "Leading Individual." She was also named a 2023 MVP for her three-consecutive years as a BTI Client Service All-Star.
