Henry Ford Health System Project named North American PPP Deal of the Year; Jones Day advised on transaction
IJGlobal has recognized a Jones Day-led transaction as the North American Public Private Partnership (PPP) Deal of the Year.
Jones Day represented Henry Ford Health System on its ground-breaking Central Energy Hub Project, the first-of-its-kind Design-Build-Finance-Operate-Maintain (DBFOM) for a health system project in North America.
The Central Energy Hub will heat and cool the new facilities through a hot and chilled water pump system, which will eliminate the need for natural gas and contribute to the facility, becoming one of the largest fully electric-capable hospitals in the country.
The Project includes sustainability and energy efficiency opportunities (including the possibility of taking advantage of new technology advances), minimizing emissions and meeting sustainability-related requirements as mandated by applicable governmental authorities.
The transaction team was led by Brian Sedlak (Practice Leader Real Estate and Global Energy & Infrastructure - Chicago) and Gerry Griffith (Health Care & Life Sciences – Chicago) and included Mike Austin and Andrew Jeon (Real Estate - Chicago) and Naomi Blagaila (Real Estate – Silicon Valley).
