Client(s) Hospice provider
Jones Day represented a Midwest based hospice provider in a multi-year, federal criminal and civil investigation of its Medicare billing practices. The Department of Justice ("DOJ") had initially alleged single damages of between $7 million and $17 million. After multiple presentations, the DOJ dropped the criminal investigation and settled the civil False Claims Act allegations for approximately $480,000; no corporate integrity agreement was required.
