Jones Day's Vishal Khatri and Carl Kukkonen named to the 2024 IAM Strategy 300 list
Intellectual Property Practice partners Vishal Khatri and Carl Kukkonen are on the 2024 IAM Strategy 300 list. The annual list identifies "individuals with a deep understanding of the ways in which intellectual property can most effectively be put to work" including third-party advisers who "offer top-tier services relating to the development and implementation of strategies which enable IP owners to maximize the value of their portfolios."
Mr. Khatri was ranked in the following sectors: Banking/financial services, Electronics, Engineering/construction, Legal, Medical devices, Semiconductors, Software, and Telecommunications. In recent years, he has represented NXP Semiconductors, SK Innovation, and others in global patent disputes related to semiconductor circuitry, Wi-Fi, and lithium battery technologies. He also successfully defended The Home Depot at the International Trade Commission against a multipatent litigation related to filament LED technology in what was described as a "first-of-its-kind" patent enforcement campaign against an entire industry.
Mr. Kukkonen was ranked in Aerospace/automotive, Banking/financial services, Defence, Electronics, Energy/fuel, Engineering/construction, Legal, Media, Medical devices, Pharmaceuticals/life sciences, Semiconductors, Software, and Telecommunications. He is currently representing HiddenLayer, Inc., in the development and prosecution of a portfolio of patents directed to protecting machine learning models from malicious attacks and leakage of sensitive information, and represents Cylance Inc. in the development and prosecution of a portfolio of over 150 issued patents directed to AI-enabled cybersecurity technologies.
According to the publication no individual can qualify for a listing in the IAM Strategy 300 unless they are nominated by at least three people from outside of their own organization.
