Jones Day partner Elsa Andrianifahanana named to Crain's Chicago Business' 40 Under 40 list
Jones Day partner Elsa Andrianifahanana has been named to Crain's Chicago Business' "40 Under 40" list for 2024. The list profiles the top professionals in Chicago who have proven themselves leaders in their field before their 40th birthday.
Ms. Andrianifahanana is a partner in Jones Day's Labor & Employment Practice, and her practice focuses on complex labor and employment issues, including employment discrimination, trade secrets, and restrictive covenants. She was recently part of a team that prevailed in two putative class actions alleging Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA) violations. She also provided confidential counseling for a corporate client on a broad range of state and federal issues related to pay equity and pay transparency, which included advising on a pay audit; analyses of compensation practices and policies; evaluating potential remediation strategies; updating job descriptions; and other disclosures to conform with requirements across localities.
Crain's also recognized her for her contribution to the profession, including as the 2023 president of the Black Women Lawyers' Association of Greater Chicago (BWLA) where she oversaw the National Summit of Black Women Lawyers, the largest event in BWLA history. Law.com's Corporate Counsel recently recognized her leadership at its 2024 Women, Influence and Power in Law awards. At Jones Day, Ms. Andrianifahanana co-leads the Firm's Black Lawyers Affinity Group and maintains an active pro bono practice representing survivors of domestic violence.
