Hereford Biofuels commences bankruptcy proceedings

Jones Day represented Hereford Biofuels, LP, the owner of the largest manure-fueled ethanol plant in the United States, and three of its affiliates in their chapter 11 cases filed on January 23, 2009. The Hereford debtors, which had more than $160 million in secured debt, sold substantially all of their assets to their senior lenders pursuant to section 363 of the Bankruptcy Code. The case was filed in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas.
