Multinational corporation conducts internal investigation of Asia operations

On behalf of a publicly traded multinational corporation, Jones Day conducted a targeted investigation of alleged misconduct and potential violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (“FCPA”) in China, Vietnam, and Singapore. Jones Day provided periodic updates to the company's Audit Committee and full Board of Directors. Following the completion of the investigation, Jones Day represented the company in making a voluntary self-disclosure of a potential FCPA violation to the Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission. Jones Day was successful in obtaining declinations from both agencies.
