Hospice provider secures dismissal of False Claims Act case
Client(s) Hospice Provider
Jones Day successfully represented a hospice provider in a Department of Justice Investigation spurred by a qui tam lawsuit brought under the False Claims Act. The investigation focused on the relators' allegations that the hospice provider had improperly certified patients as eligible for hospice care and then billed Medicare for that care. After a multiple-year investigation, the United States declined to intervene in the case and the relators voluntarily dismissed it.
