NXP sues Impinj for infringing patents relating to RFID technology
Client(s) NXP Semiconductors N.V.
Jones Day represented NXP USA, Inc. and NXP B.V. in their enforcement of six radio frequency identification (RFID) and wafer-layout patents against Impinj, Inc. Jones Day persuaded the United States Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) to deny institution of inter partes review (IPR) proceedings filed by Impinj challenging four of the patents. Jones Day also filed actions to enforce the foreign counterparts to three of the patents in China. Following trial and with appeals pending, the matters were resolved in early 2024.
