NXP resolves patent infringement claims brought by competitor MediaTek in ITC

Jones Day represented NXP Semiconductors N.V. et al. as respondents/defendants in a patent infringement dispute brought by competitor MediaTek Inc. et al. before the International Trade Commission (ITC) and the United States District Court for the Central District of California. MediaTek alleged infringement of five patents directed to semiconductor circuit technology. The district court case was stayed pending resolution of the ITC case. Following a five-day evidentiary hearing in April 2022, and days before the ITC hearing of a companion case, the dispute was resolved in July 2022 as part of a global settlement between the parties.
