​Lara Clarke's practice focuses on the energy sector, with a particular emphasis on project and public law aspects of renewable energy and infrastructure.

​​Lara advises sponsors, investors, and financial institutions on legal and regulatory issues relating to the development, acquisition, and financing of renewable energy projects (wind, solar, biomass, cogeneration, hydrogen, hydro).

​She assists national and international clients on a wide range of regulatory issues, including wind energy, solar energy (self-consumption, solarization obligation), hydrogen (import,/carbon border adjustment mechanism), battery storage, electric vehicle charging stations, and electricity supply.

​Prior to joining Jones Day in 2023, Lara gained experience working in the Paris office of an international law firm and in the legal department of a multinational energy company.

  • TotalEnergies acquires VSB Group for €1.57 billionJones Day advised TotalEnergies in the €1.57 billion (equity value) acquisition of VSB Group, a Germany based renewable energy developer and operator of wind farms and photovoltaic power plants in Germany, France, Italy, Poland, Finland, and Croatia, from Swiss asset manager Partners Group.
  • Framatome acquires Segault SAS and Velan S.A.S. for €192.5 millionJones Day advised Framatome, a world leader in nuclear energy, in its acquisition of Velan S.A.S. and Segault SAS, the French subsidiaries of Velan Inc., a world-leading manufacturer of industrial valves, for a purchase price of €170 million, and the transfer of an intercompany loan of €22.5 million, for a total of €192.5 million.
  • Altarea acquires Prejeance Industrial from RepsolJones Day advised Altarea in the acquisition of Prejeance Industrial (a French company specializing in the development of small to medium-sized rooftop photovoltaic projects) from the Spanish group Repsol.
