Richard Keys assists national and international clients in the conduct and resolution of complex disputes and controversies with the ATO (Australian Taxation Office) and state revenue offices.
Richard has an in-depth understanding of the issues involved in the life cycle of a tax audit and dispute, including managing information requests, negotiations with stakeholders, evidence preparation, and legal project management.
Richard has acted in a wide variety of taxation controversies, in particular for matters relating to transfer pricing, the general anti-avoidance rules (Part IVA), diverted profits tax and royalties, as well as state taxes and duties. He also has acted in a number of charities and not-for-profit legal matters.
Richard also advises taxpayers on voluntary disclosures for tax shortfalls and restructurings.
