Jones Day’s Yvette McGee Brown named to Mahogany Columbus’s list of “Most Influential Lawyers” in Central Ohio
Yvette McGee Brown, a partner in Jones Day's Business & Tort Litigation Practice and Partner-in-Charge of Diversity, Inclusion & Advancement, was named to Mahogany Columbus’s inaugural list of "Most Influential Lawyers” in Central Ohio.
Ms. McGee Brown, who is based in the Firm’s Columbus and Cleveland offices, advises clients facing government scrutiny related to police misconduct, discrimination, disparate impact, Title IX, internal investigations, and other issues. She brings her unique perspective to complex legal matters, honed from experience both before and behind trial and appellate court benches. Her 11 years as a jurist were highlighted by service as a justice on the Ohio Supreme Court, after which she returned to private practice, assisting clients across a range of difficult legal issues.
As Jones Day's Partner-in-Charge of Diversity, Inclusion & Advancement, Ms. McGee Brown works with the Firm's leadership on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) strategies and frequently assists clients in the development of DEI plans, which includes advising on legal guardrails for implementation.
She also has been recognized as a 2021 Midwest Trailblazer by American Lawyer and a 2020 BTI Client Service All-Star. In 2019, she was named to Savoy Magazine’s Most Influential Women in Corporate America.
Ms. McGee Brown is an arbitrator with the American Arbitration Association, serving on complex commercial panels. She has been a director for two public companies and was the board chair for The Ohio State University Alumni Association. She currently serves on the board of directors for Encova Mutual Insurance Group, The Jeffrey Company, and KIPP Columbus.
