Mike Hendershot recognized as IP Lawyer of the Year finalist for the 2024 California Legal Awards by The Recorder and Law.com

Mike Hendershot, a partner in Jones Day's Intellectual Property Practice, was named one of six Intellectual Property Lawyer of the Year Finalists by The Recorder and Law.com for 2024. The criteria for the award includes identifying lawyers with a record of "leading legal matters that are breaking new ground in IP law."

Mr. Hendershot is an accomplished trial lawyer recognized by the Daily Journal as one of California's Top IP Lawyers. He has been at the heart of some of the world's most significant IP matters throughout his 25-year career, including representing eBay from trial through its landmark Supreme Court victory in eBay v. MercExchange.

Clients, judges, and opposing counsel have commended his skills in a courtroom, with in-house counsel calling his "likability with jurors" as "off the charts" and a trial judge recently observing:

"I have done this now for a long time. I've done a lot of these trials, and that was one of the most enjoyable examinations I've gotten to sit through. It was really a pleasure to be here today. I thought it was just terrific ... I wish we could still broadcast these trials. I think a lot of people could have learned how to be a lawyer if they'd listened this morning."

Honorees will be recognized at the California Legal Awards ceremony on October 15, 2024, in Los Angeles.
