UPM-Kymmene defends against nationwide antitrust class action involving publication paper

Jones Day defended UPM-Kymmene Corporation, one of the world's largest paper companies, in consolidated nationwide class actions alleging price-fixing in the magazine paper industry. After prevailing on a motion to dismiss claims for damages outside statute of limitations period, UPM settled both the direct and indirect purchaser MDL class actions, as well as a separate class action in California, for amounts that were small fractions of the potential damages.
