Client receives Supplemental Security Income benefits after a two-year wait
Client(s) Jackson, Ronald Keith
Client J first came to intake for the Washington Legal Clinic for the Homeless in December 2010 seeking legal assistance in responding to the Social Security Administration's decision to deny him Supplemental Security Income payments because he failed to show that he was disabled. After the Social Security Administration denied his request for reconsideration, Jones Day appealed the decision before an Administrative Law Judge arguing that Mr. Jackson was, in fact, eligible for benefits because he could satisfactorily show that he was disabled under the provisions of the applicable statute. On July 17, 2012, the Administrative Law judge issued a favorable decision granting Mr. Jackson disability benefits and back pay.
