Grupo HIMA awarded three out of six hospitals

Jones Day advised Puerto Rico-based Grupo HIMA San Pablo in connection with the tendering for the €4.7 billion (US$6.2 billion) public contract organized by the Health Care Service of Madrid (Servicio Madrileño de Salud) relating to the privatization of public health care services from six public hospitals in Madrid in the form of public service management concession. Hima San Pablo was awarded three out of six hospitals under a capitation system. Jones Day's advice included assistance during the tendering process, preparation of bids, representation and negotiation via the public authorities, investment and shareholder agreements to structure vehicles for the participation of financial and strategic partners, corporate organization of the concessionaire companies, financing, insurance, labor and employment, tax, and litigation.
