(France Telecom), a leading global telecommunications company, in connection with the sale of 100 percent of Orange Dominicana S.A., its subsidiary in the Dominican Republic, to Altice, a multinational cable and telecommunications company, for $1.42 billion (€1.05 billion). The business that was sold was established in 2000 and is now a leading telecommunications operator in the Dominican Republic, one of the largest and most dynamic economies in the Caribbean, with an estimated population of more than 10 million.
