Grupo Gigante obtains financing for repayment of bridge loan

Client(s) Grupo Gigante, S.A.B. de C.V.

Jones Day advised Grupo Gigante, S.A.B. de C.V., in the MXN$4,544 million (US$350 million) term loan provided by BBVA Bancomer, S.A. and Banco Nacional de México, S.A. (Banamex). The loan is secured by shares of the capital stock of Office Depot de Mexico. The proceeds of the facility were used to repay a bridge loan used to acquire last year 50% of the shares of Office Depot de México that Grupo Gigante did not already own.
