Peter Constable Alter represents clients in complex, high-stakes disputes. His experience spans industries, forums, and all stages of a case.
Peter's practice covers commercial disputes, financial services litigation, insurance recovery, and other substantive areas. He has litigated claims arising under state and federal laws in state court, federal court, and domestic and international arbitrations. In these matters, Peter has prepared pleadings, dispositive motions, and appellate briefs; conducted fact discovery; and participated in a jury trial to verdict.
Prior to joining Jones Day, Peter served as a law clerk for Judge Karen Nelson Moore of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and Judge Christy Criswell Wiegand of the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.
Before his clerkships, Peter was an associate at an international law firm where he represented clients in complex matters involving financial services, education, and commercial disputes pending before state and federal courts.
