Larry Dany resolves complex disputes and achieves successful outcomes in litigation and arbitration for construction and engineering companies on commercial, power, energy, and infrastructure projects. He is a member of the American Arbitration Association (AAA) Roster of Construction Arbitrators.
For over 20 years, Larry has represented oil super-majors, owners and developers, and contractors in disputes involving power and petrochemical plants, solar farms, battery energy storage systems, mining, water and wastewater treatment plants, rail, high-rise commercial buildings, health care and senior living care facilities, hotels, oil and gas storage facilities and pipelines, and manufacturing plants. He provides creative solutions to client's business and legal challenges through project advisory and dispute avoidance and achieves successful project outcomes through contract negotiation and drafting design-build and engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) agreements.
Prior to joining Jones Day, Larry successfully represented a leading electrical contractor in multiple disputes with the New York City Department of Environmental Protection over work performed at a 290-mgd water filtration supplying up to 30% of New York City's drinking water supply and upgrades to three separate waste recovery plants; won an argument before the Appellate Division for the New York Supreme Court to vacate a multimillion judgment against an engineering, design, and manufacturing company by one of the world's largest real estate developers; resolved a multimillion dispute between an oil super-major and an EPC contractor concerning delayed delivery of the critical riser pull-in system for an ultra-deepwater floating platform in the Gulf of Mexico; and won a two-week jury trial for damages on behalf of an engineering, design, and manufacturing company in litigation against the company's former president.
