Hillary Green's practice focuses on business litigation, including representing a national consumer credit reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).
Prior to joining Jones Day in 2022, Hillary volunteered with the U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General in Rota, Spain (servicing Europe, Africa, and Asia), where she provided legal counsel on various issues, including administrative, jurisdictional, and international.
As a civil litigator, Hillary has handled all stages of litigation from case inception to trial preparation. Her experience includes successfully opposing a motion for summary adjudication regarding systematic stealing of confidential business information and trade secrets where the court found oral argument unnecessary based on proffered evidence, denied all of defendant's claims, and found sufficient evidence to support punitive damages — paving the way for successful settlement negotiations.
Hillary coauthored an amicus brief to the U.S. Supreme Court on behalf of California District Attorneys in McDonald v. Chicago and a writ of certiorari presenting a criminal law issue where the Court ordered briefs in opposition.
Hillary is a member of the Orange County Bar Association and the J. Reuben Clark Law Society.
- Whittier Law School (J.D. 2005; Fellow, Center for Children's Rights; Dean's Merit Scholarship); University of Southern California (B.A. in Philosophy cum laude 2000)
- California and U.S. District Courts for the Central, Eastern, Northern, and Southern Districts of California
