Patrizia Gioiosa's practice focuses on banking and financial regulations, with specific experience in Undertaking for Collective Investment (Organismi di investimento collettivi del risparmio) and financial intermediaries.
With more than 25 years of experience, Patrizia assists clients in the structuring and setting up of Italian and foreign investment funds (operating in private equity, real estate, and private debt) and management companies (società di gestione del risparmio [SGRs]).
Patrizia advises banks, private equity, real estate, and other alternative asset fund managers and institutional investors in funds on a wide range of topics, including structuring and investment, transaction on secondary, restructurings, carried interest, and ESG (environmental, social, and governance).
Patrizia has significant regulatory experience. She assists clients with Italian regulators such as the Bank of Italy and Consob, including in the context of audits. She has advised clients on applicability of DORA (Digital Operational Resilience Act) EU Regulation and DLT (distributed ledger technology) EU Regulation.
Patrizia has been a member of the tax and legal committee of the Italian Private Equity, Venture Capital and Private Debt Association (AIFI); and she also has been a member of the board of auditors of an Italian SGR that manages alternative investment funds (AIFs).
