Mike Jansen has more than 30 years of experience in public and private M&A transactions and corporate advisory work. His clients include multinationals and large and mid-size (domestic) corporations, amongst others in the (renewable) energy industry.
Prior to joining Jones Day in 2016, Mike worked for 21 years at a global law firm, serving as its managing partner and chairman of the Amsterdam board for five of those years. He also served as member of the international non-executive board of the firm.
Mike's recent experience includes: representing Avient in the acquisition of the DSM protective materials business for US$1.485 billion; representing Bio Energy Coevorden in the sale of 80% of its shares to VARO Energy; representing Lamb Weston in the acquisition of the remaining interest in European joint venture Lamb-Weston/Meijer for €700 million; representing LyondellBasell in the acquisition of a 50% stake in Rodepa Vastgoed B.V.; representing SHV Energy N.V. in the auction sale of Primagaz Nederland to DCC Energy; assisting SHV Energy N.V. in the formation of a joint venture with UGI Corporation to advance the production and use of Renewable Dimethyl Ether (rDME); representing SHV Energy N.V. in the US$170 million acquisition of the LPG businesses (Pinnacle Propane, LLC, Alliant Gas, LLC, and Pinnacle Propane Express, LLC) of U.S. listed American Midstream Partners; and representing Alcoa in the sale of two bauxite mines and a hydro energy dam (Brokopondo Dam) to the Republic of Suriname.
Mike serves on the board and is a member of various corporate, cultural, and charity organizations.
