Jennifer Kane is a seasoned, tested litigator who brings creative strategy and practicality to high-stakes mass tort and product liability cases.
Jennifer has substantial experience representing companies in the consumer products, medical device, pharmaceutical, and automotive sectors in some of the most difficult venues across the United States. She has litigated hundreds of complex product liability cases from inception through mediation or trial, and clients rely on Jennifer for her ability to take on challenging witnesses and for working with experts across numerous medical and scientific fields to break down complex technical concepts for juries. Jennifer has spent years as national coordinating counsel for R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, and she is known for efficiently and effectively managing large case dockets and teams and for coordinating strategy with joint defendants.
Prior to joining Jones Day, Jennifer defended a pharmaceutical company in a nationwide docket of personal injury cases that involved allegations related to a silk-derived mesh product; obtained dismissals on behalf of a pharmaceutical company that involved wrongful death lawsuits pertaining to prescription medicine to treat depression; counseled an alcoholic beverage company in nationwide litigation related to improper marketing and advertising claims; defended an automotive manufacturer in airbag and safety belt litigation; and served on the trial team on behalf of several firearms manufacturers in the second case of its kind to ever proceed to trial.
Jennifer maintains an active pro bono practice, including counseling survivors of human trafficking and participating in the Firm's Border Project.
