Corey Lee is a strategic legal advisor for clients involved in litigation and government investigations and a national thought leader in e-discovery best practices and policy. Corey has represented clients in litigation arising from information security and data breach incidents, contract disputes, class actions, business torts, securities, and product liability. He has conducted internal investigations for health care, consumer, and retail companies and has obtained successful resolutions in courts and through settlement.
Corey advises clients on the preservation, collection, and production of electronically stored information. He represents clients in consumer class actions; Fortune 500 companies as they respond to government and third-party subpoenas and investigations involving data breach events, the False Claims Act (FCA), Stark Law, and Anti-Kickback Statute (AKS); clients in class action data breach events involving protected health information and account information; and executing internal investigations involving potential theft of trade secrets, health care fraud, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO), and employment discrimination. He also has experience representing distributors and manufacturers in defense of product liability actions, including petroleum franchisors in Petroleum Marketing Practices Act (PMPA) matters and other disputes with franchisees and a major international beverage manufacturer and distributor in a RICO action filed by the Republic of Colombia alleging a money laundering and smuggling scheme.
Corey is a member of the American Bar Association; National Bar Association; Yale University Alumni Schools Committee; board of directors of the Duke Law Alumni Association; The Sedona Conference, Working Group 1, Electronic Document Retention and Production; and a Fellow of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity.
