Ramanda Luper has a broad range of experience in resolving complex civil disputes for clients in the pharmaceutical, medical device, media and entertainment, and transportation industries.
Ramanda's recent experience includes representing a major retailer from claims brought by state attorneys general alleging that the distribution and sale of prescription opioids constituted a public nuisance. She was also part of a team that, after a two-week bench trial, defeated a Food & Drug Administration (FDA) enforcement action by overcoming allegations that the client's surgical procedure constituted a drug under federal law. Ramanda has represented various pharmaceutical companies in nationwide mass tort cases alleging injuries resulting from receipt of prescription medications or vaccines. She has also successfully moved to dismiss without leave to amend various putative class actions relating to data privacy and consumer products. In addition, she has experience representing a national rental car company against products liability and negligence claims.
Ramanda is actively involved in pro bono matters, including litigations involving modern-day debtors' prisons, violations of the implied warranty of habitability, and representing survivors of domestic abuse.
