Jake Miller litigates high-stakes corporate and commercial disputes. He represents a wide range of clients across several state and federal jurisdictions, in inter-company litigation, M&A litigation, securities litigation, and stockholder derivative litigation. Jake also leverages his litigation experience to provide litigation advice on corporate transactions and corporate governance matters.
In addition, Jake's recent experience includes defending corporations in mass tort litigation and in chapter 11 adversary proceedings. Before joining Jones Day in 2023, Jake's experience included serving as a key member of a trial team that successfully defended a client against multibillion dollar claims in the Delaware Court of Chancery; successfully representing sellers in expedited litigation against buyers seeking to escape M&A agreements by invoking material adverse effect clauses during the pandemic; and achieving a global resolution of significant securities and stockholder derivative litigation. In addition to all aspects of litigation from inception through appeal, Jake's experience includes drafting and negotiating complex settlements, including mass tort and products liability settlements.
