Troy Mattila advises and represents clients in a wide range of labor and employment matters. He has experience with the New York Labor Law (NYLL), New York City Human Rights Law (NYCHRL), Title VII, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), the Federal Railway Safety Act (FRSA), the Railway Labor Act (RLA), diversity and inclusion initiatives, employer workplace policies, and claims brought under the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA).
During law school, Troy was a member of the Barton Juvenile Defender Clinic where he represented children in juvenile court and school suspension hearings and also helped them secure the services to which they were entitled under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). He currently maintains an active pro bono practice, including working with Kids in Need of Defense (KIND) to represent unaccompanied minors seeking special immigrant juvenile status. Troy currently serves on the board of trustees of Brooklyn Dreams Charter School and is a member of the education committee.
Prior to attending law school, Troy was a middle school English teacher for five years and was drafted by the National Hockey League's (NHL) New York Islanders in 2006.
